Digital Ordinance Survey data are used to make a basic map of the farm boundaries and surrounding road, rivers and buildings.

Field boundaries are then digitised and entered into the system to provide a crop map showing the varieties and the field acreages.

The maps can be viewed in greater detail, as needed.

The example on the left shows this infomation being used to calculate the  acreage of two crops in the same field.
