Digital Map Records
Digital Ordinance Survey data are used to make a basic map of the farm boundaries and surrounding road, rivers and buildings. bfs_belch_map.gif (14233 bytes)
bfs_belch_crop.gif (16552 bytes) Field boundaries are then digitised and entered into the system to provide a crop map showing the varieties and the field acreages.
The maps can be viewed in greater detail, as needed. bfs_crop_detail.gif (12642 bytes)
bfs_split_field.gif (35226 bytes) The example on the left shows this infomation being used to calculate the  acreage of two crops in the same field.
