| Bateman Hi/Lo
self-propelled sprayer. The spray boom at full extension is a total of 24 meters (80 feet)
wide. Fully loaded weight is less than 5 metric tons which allows this machine, when
equipped with wide low-pressure tyres, to travel on very wet, soft soil. It can also be
fitted with taller narrow tyres that can be used for summer work in tall crops such as
oilseed rape and winter beans. |

This sprayer is extensively sub-contracted out to other farms and covers more than 8000 acres of our contracted land alone, as it has to go over the same fields at least three times in one season. |
| The machine is hydrostatically driven with a hydraulic motor on each wheel. This increases the clearance underneath the machine (no axles like a conventionally driven vehicle) so reducing crop damage. |

It carries 2000 litres of spray which can cover up to 50 acres per fill. The application rate of the spray is controlled by an on-board computer which measures the foraward speed of the vehicle and spray pressure, and automatically adjusts the volume applied. |
| This makes for a very precise application of chemical to the field, and ensures that the spray manufacturers recommendations are exactly met. |
